Abstract

1454216 Moulding food patties HOLLYMATIC CORP 28 Nov 1974 [24 Jan 1974 21 Feb 1974] 51596/74 Heading B5A Apparatus of the kind in which mouldable foodstuff 12 is forced by a plunger 20 from a hopper through an opening 14 to a mould cavity 15 in a horizontally reciprocable plate 16 to form a patty, includes an air vent passage 38 between the plate 16 and a cover-plate 27 closed by the pressure of foodstuff acting on an elastically deformable valve member 42 extending around the periphery of the mould cavity. In the modification of Fig. 12 an annular valve member 141 is rigid and received in an annular recess of the mould plate and is moved upwardly to close the vent passage by the pressure of the foodstuff acting against a bevelled surface 168.
