Abstract

1453952 Ducting for electrical conductors SPACE TASKS Ltd 31 May 1974 [27 March 1973] 14588/73 Heading H2C Distribution apparatus comprises a member including an elongate rigid tube, preferably of metal, and means to adjust the effective length of the member so that the member can be positioned upright in engagement with two substantially horizontal surfaces one of which is the ceiling or false ceiling of a room, in which a bulged portion carried by the tube has mounted on it at least one outlet socket for an electrical service, accessible from the exterior of the tube, and the electrical connections from the socket extend inside the tube to positions at or near the end which is arranged to be uppermost when the member is upright. As shown, the duct may have an adjustable foot 15. The tube may be in two halves 7, 7A connectible end to end on the opposite faces of a false ceiling. The bulged portion may surround part of the tube and can be secured to it to form a hollow housing which as shown can be in two connectible parts 21A, 21B. An insert (not shown) may be placed in the tube to divide the base into at least two compartments extending along the tube, preferably the insert is cruciform. In addition, when air conditioning is available at the top end, air may be passed down the tube to an outlet nozzle (not shown).
