Abstract

1453441 Building frameworks WARD BROS (SHERBURN) Ltd 26 Feb 1974 [31 Jan 1973] 4762/73 Heading E1W The clad framework of a building is made up of frame units, e.g. 10, each with a pair of uprights, e.g. 110, horizontal rails, e.g. 111, and at least one diagonal tie, e.g. 116, which runs from a point intermediate the ends of the rail to a point on an upright. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 4, two ties 116 are fixed to the uprights. by brackets 119, adjacent the upper ends thereof: in another embodiment (Fig. 1, not shown), the ties (16) are fixed to an upper bracket (19) itself fixed to a bracket (12) carrying one end of a rail (11). Intermediate vertical stiffening members e.g. 113 are provided, and each tie has an upper adjustment via a nut 20 on the threaded end thereof, and is fixed at its lower end via a plate 21. The stiffening members 113 are of angle-section, and bolted in position via apertured end plates 15. Corrugated asbestoscement cladding sheets 22 are fixed by hook bolts 23 to the rails 11 or 111, which may be of W-section, as shown, or, e.g. of Z-section.
