1453197 Dry-charged lead-acid battery LUCAS BATTERIES Ltd 10 Jan 1974 [18 Jan 1973] 2654/73 Heading H1B A multi-cell dry-charged lead-acid battery having its cell compartments 12 formed by partitions 13 has a filling opening 18 for each cell in the lid 17 communicating with a common filling trough 21. Prior to activation of the battery by the addition of electrolyte the trough 21 is hermetically sealed by a cover 22, which has a removable portion (not shown) joined by a web of reduced cross-section which, when broken, enable the portion 18 be removed to allow for filling with electrolyte.
