Abstract
1452705 Overload indicators RUDKETTENFABRIK RIEGER & DIETZ 16 May 1974 [16 May 1973] 21859/74 Heading G1W A load carrying device includes a chain length 13 which comprises an overload indicator link 17 connected between two chain joints 15, 16 and a safety chain strand 18 connecting the two chain joints in parallel with link 17, the link 17 having a pair of indicator prongs 20, 21 which show how much the link has deformed, the prongs being situated on the opposite side of the link 17 to the chain strand 18. In the modified form of Fig. 3, the prongs include offset end portions 26, 27 which overlap as the indicator link deforms, and a mark 28 indicates the maximum permissible load.
