Abstract

1527143 Force measuring apparatus PIELKENROOD VINITEX BV 17 Sept 1975 [24 Oct 1974] 38126/75 Heading G1W An apparatus for measuring the weight of a patient in a bed comprises a base 1, 2, a load receiving element 3, 4, spring means 6 for guiding the element relative to the base and a deformable member 7 provided with strain gauges, member 7 being fixed at one end to the base or element, and being connected at its other end to the element or base respectively by a connection 8 effective to transmit forces only in a vertical direction. The element 3, 4 is guided by leaf-springs 6, and the member 7 is connected to the element by a traction bar or string 8. Member 7 may be arranged to be loaded in tension or compression.
