Guards, controlling.-A guard for a leathershaving machine comprises a roller or bar A adjustably mounted between the shaving-cylinder B and shaving-bolster C. The roller or bar is mounted between adjustable parallel levers D placed on each side of the machine and connected through a spring I, rod G, &c. with a treadle L. The shaving-bolster is also connected with the treadle L, so that the guard roller and bolster are both moved into or out of position by the same movement of the treadle.
