Abstract
1452388 Sheathing oil filled cables INDUSTRIE PIRELLI Spa 18 Nov 1974 [21 Nov 1973] 49812/74 Heading H1A A method of sheathing with metal an insulated oil impregnated cable core 10, comprises establishing a continuing flow of degassed oil between the container 11 containing the oil impregnated cable, a transferring system 14 and the extension press 17 and then passing the cable through the transferring system and press whilst keeping a continuous pressure of oil in the sheathed length of cable 27, higher than the atmospheric pressure on the free surface of the oil in the container. The column 22 contains oil, the transparent tube 23 providing a visual indication of the height of the column of oil.
