Abstract

1452008 Selective printing HUGIN KASSAREGISTER AB 16 April 1974 [17 April 1973] 16648/74 Heading B6F Type selecting mechanism comprises gears 16 each associated with at least one type carrier 18-20, a driven shaft 9 and means coupling each gear 16 to the shaft 9, the coupling being disengaged on energization or de-energization of an electromagnet 13 which is controlled by a unit responsive to pulses representing successive positions of the gear 16. The shaft 9 carries drivers 21 which are coupled to the gears 16 through pawls 27. In a home position a pawl 26 holds each pawl 27 in engagement with the respective driver 21, owing to a cam surface 29. When the gear 16 is rotated, a ring 23 carrying the cam surface 29 shifts slightly with respect to the gear so permitting the pawl 27 to be disengaged from the driver 21 when the ring is arrested by a pawl 28 controlled by the electromagnet 13. A stop 41 and shoulder 40 define the home position.
