Abstract

1402024 Printer control systems SEIKOSHA KK 17 Aug 1972 [18 Aug 1971] 38463/72 Heading G4H [Also in Division B6] A type drum 1 is intermittently rotated by a pulsed electromagnet 13 operating a ratchet and pawl mechanism. To reset the type drum, stepping onwards occurs until a cam follower 18, attracted by an electromagnet 22, engages a step 17 in a cam 16 on the shaft of the type drum. Pulses operating the stepping magnet 13 are counted by a counter (30, Fig. 2) which, after a number equivalent to a complete revolution of the type drum, signals to allow further stepping of the type drum to select characters together with the simultaneous release of electromagnet 22 holding the follower 18 in the locking position.
