Abstract

1451730 Mixing condenser BOHLER & CO AG Gebr 5 Dec 1974 [7 Dec 1973] 52564/74 Heading BIB Vapour to be condensed is fed at low excess pressure to a mixing condenser 1 by way of inlet pipe 2 and distributor device 3 and ascends in the liquid by way of vapour outlet openings 5 which are arranged in straight or curved rows, each row or group of rows being separated by a baffle plate 6, the centre to centre spacing of openings 5 being at least half the periphery of each such opening. A subsequent condensation region 9 may be provided wherein liquid non-condensible gases and residual vapour flow horizontally which region may contain inserts e.g. bundles of woven wire. Cool condensing liquid enters through inlet 12. 2.
