Abstract

1451580 Vehicle interior lamps VITALONI ELECTRONIKA-VIEL SpA 23 Dec 1974 [21 Dec 1973] 55408/74 Heading F4R [Also in Division H1] A vehicle interior lamp is switched on by opening a door of the vehicle or by rocking the transparent cover of the lamp. As shown, base 10 of the lamp assembly is snap-fixed into frame 3 secured in an aperture of the passenger compartment. Transparent cover 40 is fixed to base 10 by outwardly extending lugs 41 about which it can be rocked. One lampholder contact 14 of lamp 23 is connected by portion 15 to a live conductor. The other contact 18 has a resilient extension 20 with two transverse grooves in a portion supported by button 24 itself resiliently mounted on spring 25. The moving switch contact is a transverse pin 31 which in the normal position shown (i.e. lamp switched on by door opening) lies in the groove nearer the lamp. The ends of the pin engage in a pair of slots 29 formed in tabs upstanding from base 10, and also in a pair of V-shaped slots 44 in tabs 43 integral with cover 40. Intermediate portions 32, 33 engage one or other, depending on the location of the pin, of resilient contacts 34 37 on either side of contact extension 20 In the position shown it is in permanent contact with contact 34. Rocking the cover in either direction causes the pin to move from the apex of the V along either limb (Figs. 7, 8-not shown) and accordingly to the right along slot 29 to engage in the second groove and abut contact 37 to switch on the lamp.
