Abstract

1450836 Coating apparatus CARRIER DRYSYS Ltd 11 March 1975 [25 March 1974] 13183/74 Heading B2L An automobile body is given a phosphate or other priming coating before electrodeposition of paint by suspending it roof uppermost from a conveyor 2 and passing it through pre-spray means 18 and then through a tank of priming solution against the direction of flow in the tank, immersed up to the window openings while flooding the interior of the body to a level 19 above the tank level 20 from sprays 21 so that solution flows outwards, the unimmersed portion of the body being coated by sprays 22. The tank 3 has inlet headers 4 and 23 and an adjustable weir 7 and is mounted in a ventilated enclosure 15, the conveyor guide track 14 being mounted in a vapour sealed duct 16.
