Abstract

A solid propellant compsn. with a high and uniform burning rate contains a particulate ammonium inorg. salt having a porous structure and coated to seal the exterior openings of the pores without filling these. The compsn. is esp. for use in an antimissile missile. The porous structure is formed by heating the salt at 180-400 degrees C to achieve a wt. loss of 20-35%. The coating is pref. a polymer from an alkylene adduct of divinyl benzene.
