Abstract

1450152 Dry-cleaning composition IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 4 Jan 1974 [15 Jan 1973] 2030/73 Heading C5D Dry-cleaning compositions comprise a solution in a halogenated dry-cleaning solvent of a polyurea containing at least two urea groups and at least two groups each of which is an alkyl, alkenyl or alkapolyenyl group containing at least 8 carbon atoms. The polyureas may be those described in and prepared by the processes of Specification 1,313,745. The compositions may contain up to 5% of water by weight, based on the halogenated hydrocarbon solvent, a stabilizer, an antioxidant, a corrosion inhibitor and a surface active agent such as a salt of a compound of formula wherein R and R 1 each is H or alkyl or aryl, and R 2 and R 3 each is alkyl, aryl, alkenyl, aralkyl or a C 7 to C 13 cycloaliphatic group. The halogenated hydrocarbon may be perchlorethylene, trichloroethylene, methylene chloride, 1,1,1 - trichloro - ethane or 1,1,2- trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,313,745.
