Abstract

1450007 Hand tool handles J FAUVEL 21 Feb 1975 [21 Feb 1974 16 Sept 1974] 7485/74 Heading B4K [Also in Division E2] A device for securing a handle-shaft 3 to a tool having a tapered socket 2 comprises a cramp 5 having two arms 6, 7 adapted to bear on the handle and socket respectively and clamping means adapted to be fitted to the handle-shaft, said clamping means including a lug 10 which extends through an opening 11 in the cramp 5 and a cam lever 8 pivotally mounted on the lug and adapted on pivotal movement to press the cramp against the handle shaft and socket. The clamping means may comprise a resilient ring 9 slidably mounted on the handleshaft or alternatively (Fig. 2 not shown) a sleeve rigidly secured to the handle. The tool may be a hoe, scraping implement or rake.
