Abstract

1449214 Speed governors AISIN SEIKI KK 29 Nov 1973 [29 Nov 1972] 55515/73 Heading G3B [Also in Division H1] A speed governor comprises flyweights 9, 10 urging a sleeve 14 against a lever 27 in response to speed of a rotary element connected to shaft 11, the lever having at one end a connection 26 with a first switch S1 and its other end a connection with a second switch S2, both switches being secured at one of their ends to a switch base 17 and their other free ends being controlled by respective ends of the lever 27. As the speed of the rotary element increases the end of the lever 27 controlling the first switch S1 is moved so that a contact 23 on a bowed portion of the switch is, by snap action, brought into engagement with a fixed contact 24, the other free end of the lever 27 being held substantially stationary by spring 45. After the switch S1 has been actuated the free end of lever 27 associated with it comes up against adjustable stop 34, and the other free end starts to overcome the bias of spring 45. Thereafter the second switch S2 is actuated, by the engagement of contacts 53, 41. The adjustment screws 33, 51 control the closure tuning of switches S1, S2 respectively, whilst the adjustment screws 36, 52 regulate the opening tuning respectively.
