Abstract
1448802 Blowing lances BLACK SIVALLS & BRYSON Inc 12 July 1974 [12 July 1973] 31021/74 Heading F4B A lance for introducing two or more materials into a high temperature area, e.g. into a metal melt, comprises a jacket 20 closed at both ends, and a plurality of conduits enclosed in the jacket and extending through the jacket at or near both ends, a coolant space formed between the conduits and the jacket having two longitudinal baffles and a plurality of axial spaced radially extending baffles. The conduits 40, 44 may be coaxial with the shell, and the outer conduit may terminate in passages 35. The coolant space is divided by radial partitions 60, Fig. 3, and spaced annular baffles 64 are connected alternately to the inner surface of the shell and the outer surface of conduit 44. The shell of the lance carries a mounting flange 66.
