Abstract

1448545 Valves PACE Inc 9 Dec 1974 [26 April 1974] 53202/74 Heading F2V [Also in Division G3] In a vacuum supply and control system a treadle-actuated valve is connected between a compressed air source and a Venturi, at the control part of which is created a controllable vacuum. An L-shaped lever 86 is positioned between the spring-loaded treadle 22 and the end 76 of the valve member 74 which has two spaced valve heads 78, 80 respectively cooperating with seals 62, 66. The valve head 78 controls flow between the valve inlet 42 and the outlet 46 while the valve head 80 seals the bore 44 when the valve head 78 is open. The Venturi 20 has a flow adjustment screw 104 and has its control port 110 positioned at the downstream end of the throat 98 and connected to a vacuum-responsive mechanism. The noise of the compressed air exiting at 94 is damped by a porous filter substance.
