Abstract

1448354 Boat trailers F W SMITH 29 April 1975 [27 Feb 1975] 8239/75 Heading B7B A boat trailer comprises a first longitudinal member 2 pivotally attached to a spindle 4 of a tow-bar 1 and a second longitudinal member 9 slidably attached at its forward end to an upright member 8 intergral with the tow-bar and pivotally attached to the rear end of the first longitudinal member 2 the second longitudinal member 9, having rollers 16 associated therewith. In a preferred embodiment the forward portions of longitudinal bars of the first longitudinal member 2 converge towards each other to be locked alongside the tow-bar 1 by a turnkey 7. The side walls of the second longitudinal member 9 have slots 12 which slidably receive the outer ends of spindle 11 attached to upright forked member 8. A roller 13 is mounted to spindle 11. A spindle 14 which pivotally mounts the rear end of the second longitudinal member also carries a roller 15. In a modification, Fig. 5, slots 12 in the side walls of the second longitudinal member engage in a spindle 20 located on an extension 21 to the upper end of the upright member 8.
