Abstract

1426336 Trailer anti-snake and anti-pitch devices J BENSON 26 June 1974 [6 July 1973] 32324/73 Heading B7T A motor vehicle 1 is connected to a caravan 7 by means of an assembly comprising a towing ball (3), Fig. 3 (not shown), mounted on an angle section 2, and a socket element 5, the assembly further comprising an anti-snake device and an anti-pitch device, the anti-snake device including a member 9 pivotally mounted at its forward end on the angle section 2 and having its rearward end received between friction pads (11), Fig. 4 (not shown), of a clamp 14, the anti-pitch device including two bars 16 having their forward ends 17 mounted for pivotal movement about vertical axes in the angle section 2 and having their rearward ends supported by chains 23 secured in slots 22 of a strip 21 resting on a triangular structure 6 of the caravan. The friction pads of the clamp 12 may be moved towards one another by means of an eccentric 14 operated by a handle 15. The caravan has a retractable jockey wheel 8.
