Abstract

In processes in which glycerine is recovered from solutions containing sulphuric acid by the addition of barium carbonate and oxalic acid, the glycerine is decolorized by adding the oxalic acid, preferably in the form of powder, before the addition of barium carbonate and preferably in quantity above that necessary to precipitate the barium salts formed.
