Abstract

1446890 Hand-tool handles PHILIP MORRIS Inc 11 Dec 1973 [11 Dec 1972] 57367/73 Heading B4K A handle having an end element for holding an implement such as a razor head comprises an elongate main stem having a longitudinally extending slot with opposed side walls bordered by flat outer faces, an elongate channel-shaped member having side flanges engaged within said slot and having a substantially flat outer face, said side flanges each having a plurality of locking fingers spaced along and comprising extensions of the flange, said locking fingers each having an opening, the said side walls of said slot having lugs projecting into corresponding said openings respectively of said locking fingers. The stem 10 of a safety razor handle is of plastics material and is provided with a through slot over a major portion of its length and thin metal channel members 11, 12 which may be decoratively finished or chromium plated are fitted in the slot, projecting recessed or T- shaped locking fingers 22-25 thereon engaging lugs in the slot to secure the members 11, 12 in position. An opening extends into the stem from one end and a connecting element 13 having a flat fang 14 with sawtoothed edges 70, 71 is adapted to be inserted in the opening. The teeth 70, 71 become embedded in ribs 73, 74 (Fig. 4) on the sidewalls of the opening. The connecting element 13 has a head 16 shaped to engage in a dovetail or other grooved slot in a razor cartridge. Opposite faces of the element 13 bear the numerals I and II to identify the edges of the razor.
