Abstract
1446556 Automatic control of exhaust gases ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 18 Oct 1973 [19 Oct 1972 28 April 1973] 48614/73 Heading G3R In a system having an integrater for controlling the fuel/air ratio supplied to an internal combustion engine in response to an exhaust gas probe, the integrator operates in steps, the duration of which depends upon the speed and/or the load on the engine. In the embodiment, one or the other of two transistors 24, 25 periodically conducts according to whether or not the output of probe 12 exceeds a threshold set at 20 so as to cause a steady rise or fall of the output of integrator 32, 33, 34 for a time determined by a monostable multi-vibrator 36 and at a frequency determined by engine speed or load pulses which trigger 36. During this off period the output of the integrator remains constant, or changes at a different rate if a resistor 40 (optional) is provided. This output adjusts a carburetter or fuel injector.
