Abstract

1445190 Foam-making apparatus; apparatus for discharging washing etc liquid K E KOLLMAI 13 Dec 1973 [13 Dec 1972] 57814/73 Headings B1C and B2F [Also in Divisions A4 and B7] A wash gun, particularly intended for cleaning cars, comprises a hollow body member 18 which is connectable to a source of high pressure cleaning liquid, a handle 16 attached to or forming part of the body member, two nozzles 54, 56 attached to and extending from the body member, one of the nozzles 56 having a constriction (68) and downstream of the constriction at least one air inlet passage 71 for intake of air, and valve means 42 whereby liquid can be directed out of one or the other of the two nozzles as desired. Nozzle 56 provides for generation and discharge of foam while nozzle 54 which has a discharge orifice 61 at its tip provides for direct discharge of liquid without foam generation. Valve 42 also allows simultaneous discharge through 'both nozzles. The air inlet holes 71 in nozzle 56 may be inclined towards or away from the discharge end and/or inclined chordally in the wall (Figs. 5-8 not shown).
