Abstract

1414203 Aerating liquids M NICOLLET 30 Jan 1973 4564/73 Heading B1C [Also in Division A4] A device for effecting under water massage comprises a bath, having massaging elements for emitting water jets which may be disposed in the bath in several exemplified ways. A gas compressor may aerate the jets. The massaging elements may be nozzles having a rectangular or oval cross section and having an aperture 15 in one face and slideways 16, 16' in which plates 17 slide and carry nozzles in the form of holes 18, Fig. 10, slots 19, tubes 20, cylindrical nozzles 21. Fig. 9, or ball joint jets 22, Fig. 11. Alternatively, the massaging elements may be casings having round, oval or rectangular cross sections and may have one or more ball joint jets 22 or a nozzle with a rotating element, or the massaging elements may consist of perforated tubes fixed inside the bath. The massaging elements may be situated outside the bath and the jets projected into the bath through orifices which may be closed by slidable flaps. Massaging elements may be attached to a bath using magnets or suction cups. In an alternative embodiment, a multiple-jet massaging element for projecting a jet of an air/water mixture consists of a tube 47, Fig. 18, connected to a block 48 having a bore 49 connected to the atmosphere or to a gas bottle. Orifices 50 leading from the tube 47 form ejector nozzles and are connected to the bore 49 through orifices 51. The outer part of the orifice 50 has a greater diameter than the inner part. An air or gas compressor supplemented or replaced by a compressed air or gas bottle may be connected to the bore 49 to supply the gas for aerating the bath. The orifices may be equipped with movable internal elements which provide a rotating jet, pulsed jet, reciprocating jets or a flat spray.
