Abstract
1445155 Animal feed supplements PRODUITS CHIMIQUES UGINE KUHLMANN 3 Sept 1973 41375/73 Heading A2B An animal feed supplement is made by neutralising crystallised urea phosphate with one or more of the following: lime, CaCO 3 , NH 4 OH or NH 4 salts KOH or K salts, or Na OH or Na salts, to obtain a fluid paste, and then adding a magnesium salt and urea together with oligo-elements e.g. Zn, Mn, Cu or Co. The urea phosphate is made by using an impure phosphoric acid which contains Al, F, Fe, Mg and sulphate. In the supplement the weight ratios of the elements when they are present are as follows; N:P 3.25 to 5.00, N:S 14.74 to 27.81, Ca:P 1.41 to 2.02, Mg:P 0.20 to 0.35, Na:P 0.21 to 0.60, K:Na 7 to 9. Oil-coke, peat, kaolin, sawdust and synthetic silica may 'be added to improve handling of the product and conservation during storage. The final product is a uniform powder which may be formed into pellets or other agglomerates, or extruded.
