The framework is made up from three closed wire loops welded together, or from sheet metal, and is intended to be held in a drawer or cabinet in which it may be located by a hook 11 or by stops. By inverting the illustrated framework, files of a smaller size can be supported thereon. The distance between the parallel planes in which the rails 3, 3 and the rails 4, 4 lie is less than the distance between the rails 3, 3 but more than half that distance.
