Abstract

1444474 Fuel injectors DEERE & CO 20 March 1974 [21 March 1973] 12411/74 Heading F1B A hollow cylindrical member 32 slidably mounted in the spring bore 22 between the spring 30 and the needle valve 18 has an axial length not less than its diameter, e.g. between <SP>1</SP>/ 3 and <SP>1</SP>/ 5 the length of the needle valve, to prevent binding due to the eccentricity of the spring bore and the needle valve. The member 32 may have a projection (33), Fig. 3 (not shown), extending within the spring 30 and a diameter about four times that of the needle valve bore 16. Openings 42, 44 and 46 in the member 32 and the body 10 provide for the discharge of fuel leakage past the needle valve.
