Abstract

1443688 Vacuum or blow moulding WRIGHTCEL Ltd 24 Feb 1975 [25 Feb 1974 29 May 1974] 7573/75 Heading B5A In a vacuum or blow moulding die there are protrusions at the corners of the die extending into the interior thereof which produce an article that as moulded has the corresponding corners everted, and so reduce thinning in the corners of the moulded material. This effect is suitably attained by providing the protrusions in the form of a trigonal by-pyramid the faces of which are right-angled isosceles triangles and fitting one of the right-angled apices into the corner of the mould. The moulded object may be further strengthened by providing parallel horizontal ridge-shaped protrusions in the walls and/or bottom of the die; these protrusions are preferably staggered on adjacent walls of the die to avoid intersection of the protrusions.
