Abstract

1441341 Child proof container closure CLOSURE INDUSTRIES Inc 1 July 1974 29114/74 Heading B8T A resilient cover 16 is provided for overfitting a container screw cap 14 having cap engaging means for holding the cover in rotative association with the cap and locking means for gripping the locking means of the cap upon the application of radially inwardly directed forces. The cover 48 is secured over the screw cap 14 by the inwardly projecting groove 52 over the outwardly projecting lip 26 of the cap such that rotation of the cover relative to the cap is possible (Fig. 5). The inwardly projecting projections 42 and 44 on the cover engage in the knurled section 30 of the cap on the application of radially inwardly directed forces at the preferably roughened areas 48 and 50 such that rotation of the cover and cap occurs simultaneously (Fig. 7).
