Abstract

1441312 Flexible shaft couplings MOTORENFABRIK HATZ KG 11 Oct 1973 [4 Nov 1972] 47656/73 Heading F2U [Also in Division F1] A driven member 20 is secured to a flywheel 16, carried by the crank-shaft 10a of an i.c. engine, by fixing screws 36 and concentric elastic buffer elements 38, with an intervening annular gap S1, in order to reduce the transmission of vibration from the flywheel to the driven member. Each buffer 38 has an inner metallic bush 38a which abuts the face of flywheel 16, and an outer bush 38b which has grooves carrying spring clips 40. Similarly the flywheel casing 28 is separated by an annular gap S2 from the crank-case 12, and is secured by fixing screws 136 and concentric elastic buffer elements 138, with bushes 138a and 138b, retained by spring clips 140. External cover members 32, 34 serve to reduce the outward transmission of noise from the engine.
