Abstract
1441187 Clamping vibrators MARTIN ENG CO 23 April 1974 [24 April 1973 28 Dec 1973] 17675/74 Heading B5A [Also in Divisions F2] A steel mould 15 (Fig. 1) for the casting of a double-T concrete beam, supports a track 16 along which a vibrator 26 is movable between positions at which it is clamped against movement along the track. The vibrator 26 is set into vibration, and the clamp operated for clamping, simultaneously. As described, the base 28 (Fig. 2) of the vibrator engages under track flanges 24. Air pumped through an inlet 60 into channels 50 and 40 inflates elastomeric envelopes 46 to clamp the vibrator base 28 against the track flanges 24. Simultaneously, the air discharges through a port 34 into a chamber 30 to operate an eccentrically mounted rotor 32 for vibrating. When air pressure is released, the vibrations cease, the envelopes 46 deflate, and the vibrator 26 is movable along the track 16 by hand, cable or winch. A plurality of vibrators can be interconnected for simultaneous operation on a single track, or several track and vibrator arrangements provided.
