Abstract

1425335 Vibrating concrete N HJARNO KNUDSEN AS 9 July 1973 [8 July 1972] 32573/73 Heading B5A A concrete slab is cast in a mould 1, and a plate 9 pivoted about a vertical support 17 to a position over the mould is lowered to tamp and transmit vibrations to the slab upper surface. The plate 9 is mounted on a vibrator 8 comprising a motor driven shaft and eccentric. A handle 13 is used to oscillate the plate 9 from side-to-side if necessary to contact all the exposed concrete. After vibrating, the plate 9 is pivoted away and replaced by a pallet held against the mould by pivoted arms 3, which are gripped by an operator simultaneously with mould handles 4 to invert the mould, slab and pallet, aided by a cylinder 15. A table 6, which is counterbalanced, or moved by a pedaloperated hydraulic or pneumatic mechanism 16 downwards, removes the pallet and slab from the mould while this is supported in its inverted position by stops 7 abutting a suspension system 5.
