1440759 Ice cream mixer BLOSDEN Ltd 17 Aug 1973 [18 Aug 1972 16 June 1973] 38545/72 and 28719/73 Heading B1C An ice-cream mixer comprises a container 10 for the mix, releasably securable to a housing 12 within which is mounted a frame 13 which carries an angularly displacable mixing unit frame 14 with an electric motor 16, the motor being directly coupled to a gear reducer unit 52 the output shaft of which is connected to mixing blades 54, 66 by a coupling piece 24 the blades extending downwardly into the container 10. The frame 14 is attached by a pivot pin 28 to the mounting frame 13 and a spring 30 extending between the frames 13 and 14 biasses the frame unit 14 into one extreme position by pivoting it about the pin 28. A switch unit 18 is attached to the stationary frame 13 and has an accuating lever 20 whereby in use as the reaction torque produced as the mixture is agitated increases with the extent of freezing of the mix, the mixing unit 14 pivots about the pin 28, overcoming the resistance of the spring 30 and contacts the lever 20 actuating the switch 18 to stop the motor 16 at the required consistency of the mix. The mixing blades 54 and 66 are detachable from the coupling piece 24 and are self clamping on the piece 24 between the flange 25 and slot 80. A manually operated actuator in the form of a shaft 34, knob 36 and arm 42 is provided on the frame 13 to re-set the switch arm 20 for recommencement of the mixing operation. The container 10 is attachable to the housing 12 by way of spring biassed levers 96 which engage in recesses 90 in the container flange 86.
