Abstract

1439981 Lamps DOMINION AUTO ACCESSORIES Ltd 25 July 1973 [26 July 1972] 35327/73 Heading F4R An emergency warning lamp comprises a base 10, Fig. 5, having an annular top wall 16 and a lens 12 having a peripheral flange 41 adapted to rest on the wall, the flange having a plurality of depending hooks 42 adapted to interengage with bayonet-type slots 45 in the wall 16 and the base having an upstanding annular wall 48 adapted to project into the lens to prevent the ingress of water. Any water which descends through the base can drain through passages 49. The lamp further comprises a bulb holder and reflector assembly 11, Fig. 4, mounted on the shaft 20 of an electric motor 18 which is secured inside a raised central portion 17 of the base 10. The shaft 20 is electrically connected to the motor casing and provides one electrical lead to the bulb 26 via the mounting bracket 22 which connects the assembly 11 to the shaft, the other electrical lead being provided by a brush 29 which is resiliently mounted on, but electrically insulated from, the bracket 22 and bears against a contact plate 34 on the base 10. The bulb 10 is of the quartz-iodine type and the lens may be coloured.
