Abstract
1439942 Foldable push chairs ROYALE BABY CARRIAGES Ltd 11 July 1973 [12 July 1972 31 Oct 1972] 32688/72 and 50201/72 Heading B7B A foldable baby carriage comprises first and second pivoted frame parts 2, 3, each comprising a pair of parallel members, with an X-frame 6 pivotally connected between the frame parts, and breakable bracing means 8 connected between the members of the second frame part 3 which keep the frame parts erected. As shown in the Figure bracing means 8 are broken by pushing upwardly, and handles 10 are rotated forwardly and downwardly so that members 6 of the X-frame move together. Simultaneously seat frame members 4 which are pivoted to the respective frame part 2 and to an L-shaped bracket 12, break the bracing means 5 via links 19 to form a collapsed frame. In the erected position foot bar 15 locks members 13, 14 in the extended position and locking ring 20 is slipped over the free end of frame part 2. Pivot points 12 and those at which links 19 are connected to frame members 4 and bracing means 5 can be replaced by universal swivels.
