Abstract
The folding wheelchair has two side frames with wheels, a horizontal seat surface, and a backrest. The side frames (1) are connected together by a mechanism (12) so designed as to leave the space between it and the frames free, and typically comprising horizontal members pivoting on vertical axes. There may be two first hinging arms on one frame, with devices at their free ends engaging when in use with locking devices on the other frame, the arms being also coupled together by a link pivoting on both. Two second arms pivot on the other frame and on the central portions of the first arms.
