Abstract

1439919 Drying webs TRANSPARENT PAPER Ltd 28 Aug 1973 [7 Sept 1972] 41577/72 Heading F4G A method of heat treating a relatively airimpermeable moving web of material comprises the step of moving the web adjacent to means for heating a narrow transverse portion of the web while supporting the heated region on a cushion of gas. The gas may be air and cooled and the heating means may be a strip gas flame. The gas cushion may be formed by blowing gas through a perforated bar.
