Abstract

1439078 Containers MONTECATINI EDISON SpA 20 Sept 1973 [20 Sept 1972] 44125/73 Heading B8P A container, particularly of I.S.O. type, comprises an inner plastics bag 1 and an outer rigid sleeve having end support surfaces for the ends of the bag 1, one end of the bag being secured within the sleeve while the opposite end is provided with an inlet and an outlet which are closeable by means provided in the sleeve. As shown in Fig. 1 the plastics bag is formed from a tube, the ends of which are sealed by transverse seams 2, 3. The portions of the bag adjacent the ends of one seam 3 are apertured to define an inlet 6 and an outlet 7. To close the inlet or outlet, the adjacent portion of the bag is wrapped around a bar 8 and clamped against a second bar 9. The ends of the bar 8 are fixed to the container sleeve by positioning its ends between angle irons. The opposite end of the bag is secured within the sleeve adjacent an end of the seam 2 by means of a similar bar coupling. The end of the sleeve adjacent the inlet and outlet is provided with a gate which supports the bag while permitting access to be gained to the inlet and outlet.
