Abstract

1439064 Stackable and nestable containers ETABS BONNET 26 Sept 1973 [28 Sept 1972] 45172/73 Heading B8P A stackable and nestable container has an open-topped, upwardly divergent body 2 of plastics material provided with surfaces 4 in the upper corners for supporting a superimposed container, and is characterized in that handle members 5 are pivotally mounted on the outside of two opposed walls for movement between an upper handle forming position (as shown in Fig. 1) and a load bearing lower position. In this second position the handle members 5 extend below the container and engage the surfaces 4 when stacked on a second container. The handle members 5 are removed when the containers are to be nested. The container is particular for use in a refrigerator or freezer, when the handle members 5 may be used to suspend the container from ledges on the interior walls of the apparatus.
