Abstract

A container for a block of ice-cream or similar product comprises a box with a removable lid which fit together with a removable lid which fit together with a moisture-proof seal. The lid has a flat-based cavity which just fits the biggest face of the ice-cream block and sides which slope out from the base to the seal face around the edge of the lid, the box has a similar, flat-based cavity opposite to the one in the lid and the box walls rise to an all-round out-ward flange topped by a rising lip intended to seal against the lid, the lip being located well clear of a block held in the box cavity. The seal between box and lid pref. comprises a lip on the box fitting into an inverted U-channel on the lid. Used as container for storing transporting, displaying and serving a block of ice-cream, esp. a block of about 2 kg. weight.
