1438639 Illuminated signs LUCAS ELECTRICAL CO Ltd 9 Oct 1973 [28 Oct 1972] 49819/72 Heading G5C An indicator panel 11 for use in a road vehicle instrument panel is formed from light conductive material having an inclined end surface 13 by which light entering the panel is reflected down to opposed reflecting surfaces 14, 15 which return the light back along the panel interior. The double passage of light inside the panel gives even illumination of symbols or indicia on ridges 12. The panel may be used in a housing 16 adjacent a switch whose four positions are shown by the indicia on ridges 12. The light input for surface 13 may be from a lightpipe cable plugged into a socket in housing 16.
