Abstract

1437882 Electric incandescent lamps FABRIQUES REUNIES DE LAMPES ELECTRIQUES 5 April 1974 [9 April 1973] 15130/74 Heading H1F A method of manufacturing an incandescent lamp having a tungsten filament comprises the step of flattening and pinch-sealing one end of a borosilicate glass tube constituting the lamp envelope directly on to the limbs of the filament. The filament is supported in position during the sealing operation by a hairpinshaped wire of nickel or copper the ends of which are fixed to the filament limbs. After sealing, the curved portion of the hairpin is cut and removed, the remaining portions constituting the current supply wires.
