Abstract

1437365 Induction heating DSO ELPROM 15 June 1973 [15 June 1972] 28685/73 Heading H5H [Also in Division C7] Apparatus for decarburizing stacked laminations of magnetic material comprises a non- magnetic tube 3 surrounded by thermal insulation 2 and inductors 1, which may be connected in series, the inductors being embedded in a solid mass. Stacks 9 of laminations contained in magazines 10 are advanced through the tube by a reciprocating piston 8 acting in conjunction with entrance and exit locks 4, 5, while decarburizing gas is introduced through inlets 11, 12. The inductors operate at 50 to 10000 Hz, the induced vibration of the laminations serving to agitate the gas.
