Abstract
1360651 Demolition FUJI MOTORS CORP M KAWAMURA and Y KASAI 19 April 1971 [20 March 1970 14 May 1970 29 Dec 1970] 24652/71 Heading E1S [Also in Division H5] Concrete or mortar 13 containing embedded ferromagnetic conductors 14 is rendered easily destructable by conducting an alternating flux through the conductors to raise their temperature, the flux being generated by a magnetic inductor 11, 12. The heating reduces the bond strength between the ferromagnetic conductors and the concrete or mortar so that it may be readily broken up. The heating may be supplemented by passing a current through the ferromagnetic conductors, the inductor may have shorter legs than shown, no legs at all, or may be M-shaped. Capacitors may be inserted in parallel with all or part of the inductor windings to improve the power factor.
