Abstract

1436341 Delivering sheets MASSON SCOTT THRISSELL ENG Ltd 29 March 1974 [3 April 1973] 15811/73 Heading B8R Cut sheets S are carried on conveyer 1 to a roller nip, from which they are projected on to a receiver 8, and the speed of roller 3 of the nip is regulated in dependence on the speed of conveyer 1, except when the speed of the conveyer 1 falls below a limiting value and the roller 3 is run at a set minimum acceptable speed. A signal derived from the speed of conveyer 1 is used to control the roller 3, subject to set override conditions. Preferably the conveyer and roller are driven by a single motor, which is connected to the conveyer by fixed-ratio gearing or direct drive and to the roller by a variable transmission.
