Abstract

1436338 Injection moulding machine control E SAUERBRUCH 30 July 1973 [31 July 1972] 36208/73 Heading B5A In an injection moulding machine wherein the injection pressure produces a slight opening movement of the filled mould 2, 4 this movement is used to regulate one or more of the following parameters in the next cycle: (i) injection pressure, (ii) after-pressure, (iii) dynamic pressure, (iv) dosaging travel and (v) cylinder temperature. In the example illustrated the spacing A between a mould carrier plate 3 and the machine frame 5 is measured by a rod 12 fixed to the plate 3. The rod 12 co-operates with a measuring head 13 which is connected to a control unit 15 and variable pressure limiting valve 16. The valve 16 is connected to a conduit 17 between a pump 18 and a valve 19 controlling the beginning and end of the axial displacement of the injection screw 9. If the mould displacement is smaller or larger than a given tolerance the injection pressure for the next cycle is raised or lowered respectively.
