Abstract
1436066 Self-restoring fuses MITSUBISHI DENKI KK 5 June 1974 [8 June 1973] 24834/74 Heading H2G A self-restoring current limiting device comprises at least one pair of self-restoring elements 10a, 10b each including a pair of terminal members 12, 14 interconnected by electrically conductive material 32 such as sodium, potassium or alloys of these, which vaporizes on overcurrents and depresses pistons 34 in buffer chambers 36, and communicating tubes 40a, 40b filled with said material 32 interconnecting corresponding terminals of the elements 10a, 10b to permit circulation of the said material, at least one of the communicating tubes being fitted with cooling fins 42. An electromagnetic pump 46 may be disposed to circulate the material 32 and cooling may be assisted by an electric blower (not shown). To increase the voltage withstand, any number of pairs of elements may be series connected and may have pressure buffer chambers such as 36, filled with inert gas, disposed in the pumping and connecting blocks 44a, 44b.
