Abstract

1411258 Fusible cut-outs SIEMENS AG 21 Dec 1972 [24 Dec 1971] 59252/72 Heading H2G An electrical fuse assembly consists of a housing formed from a plurality of elements 1, 2, 3. Elements 2, 3 define a first chamber 12 wherein is situated a main fusible conductor 11 in electrical connection with electrical contact members 9 and 10 which further make contact with electrically conducting support elements 6 and 7. An auxiliary fuse element 5 which together with elements 6 and 7 and housing element 1 on which it is detachably mounted constitutes a detachably mounted sub-assembly, and is positioned in a second chamber 13 defined by the housing elements 1, 2, 3. The assembly is secured together by e.g. screws, rivets &c. Resilient elements 6 and 7 are limited to the cross-sections necessary for carrying current, and may be frictionally affixed within housing element 1, and may be shaped thereon. The second chamber 13 may be formed alternatively by recesses in two elements or in a channel in one element, and may be provided with means for the quenching of arcs, or deionization of gases. Chamber 12 may contain a plurality of conductors therein.
